Meet the Team
All our trustees live and/or work in Lewisham North.
Between them they have a wealth of experience in community work, business, education, local and national government and beyond.

Trustee & Chair
Vicky Foxcroft
Vicky joined Deptford First as a trustee and chair in 2015.

She has been the Member of Parliament for Lewisham North (formerly Lewisham Deptford) since May 2015. Much of Vicky’s constituency work has focused on issues affecting young people and in 2016 she established the Youth Violence Commission, a cross-party group set up to examine the root causes of youth violence.

Prior to her election, Vicky was a councillor for Brockley ward and spent 13 years working in various roles for Unite the Union. As a councillor she played a leading role in the campaign to save A&E and maternity services at University Hospital Lewisham.

Vicky was born in Chorley, Lancashire and studied performing arts at college. She has lived in Brockley and Deptford since 2000.

Trustee & Treasurer
Andy Rothery
Andy joined Deptford First as a trustee in 2016.

He is a freelance real estate adviser, having retired from Deloitte in 2015 after 27 years. At Deloitte, he was a senior partner and Head of Deloitte Real Estate.

He is also an independent trustee on the board of the London Transport Museum and a resident trustee of the New Cross Gate Trust.

Trustee & Secretary
Vicki Flippance
Vicki has been supporting the Deptford First trustees since 2015.

She has more than 10 years' experience of working for Lewisham MPs and has worked for Vicky Foxcroft - first as Office Manager and later as Parliamentary Research Manager - since 2015.

Vicki is passionate about the importance of bringing local issues to Parliament and looking for ways to link local and national politics. Her key skills are in research, stakeholder engagement, policy development and communications.
Since starting her work with Deptford First, Vicki has led the trustees in updating the charity's constitution and developing new ways of working, as well as organising events.

Although originally from the south west, Vicki has lived in south east London since 2010.

Trustee
Joan Millbank MBE
Joan joined Deptford First as a trustee in 2016.

Lewisham has been Joan’s home since 1977. Over the years she has been active – as a volunteer or a trustee – in setting up and supporting many community groups, charities and voluntary organisations at a local, regional and national level.
Her understanding, knowledge and skills in respect to local communities and the voluntary sector have been enhanced through her paid work, including positions as a community development officer, neighbourhood officer, executive director of a large multipurpose charity, cross-sector management consultancy experience and currently as a part-time grants officer within a large charitable trust.
In 2010 Joan stood and was elected as a Lewisham councillor for Telegraph Hill ward. She is a trustee of Deptford First in a personal capacity.

Trustee
Vivienne Hurley
Vivienne joined Deptford First as a trustee in 2021.

She is Director of Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange at Goldsmiths, University of London. With 10,000 students and around 1,300 staff, Goldsmiths is one of the largest employers in Lewisham and makes a significant contribution to the cultural and social well-being of the borough.
Vivienne has played an instrumental role in the development of the college’s new civic strategies. Goldsmiths believes it can do more to unlock its full potential by delivering further initiatives for the good of the local area and the third of a million people living in Lewisham.

By becoming a trustee, Vivienne is looking to strengthen the connections between Deptford First and the college.

Trustee
Father Grant Bolton-Debbage
Father Grant joined Deptford First as a trustee in 2022.

He has been vicar of All Saints Church, New Cross since 2020, having taken over from Father Owen Beament (one of the founders and long-time secretary of Deptford First).

Grant is originally from Norfolk and studied theology at Durham University. He has known New Cross well for many years, thanks to his grandmother living in the area.

Since moving to New Cross, he has embedded himself firmly in the community and is committed to working hard to improve the lives of local people.

Grant is also a talented musician and singer.

Trustee
Jayne Morgan
Jayne joined Deptford First as a trustee in 2023.

She has worked in the London Borough of Lewisham for more than 20 years as a college leader and is currently Deputy Principal of Christ the King Emmanuel.
Jayne is committed to fostering inclusive, empowering environments for local people to access and thrive in education and reach their full potential. Her values-driven leadership is rooted in the belief that education is a transformative tool for social change.

Jayne is keen to foster strong links between Deptford First and our community institutions. In her previous role at Lewisham College, she facilitated a project which saw students design artwork for Deptford First to use on its promotional material.

Trustee
Helen McIntosh
Helen McIntosh joined Deptford First as a trustee in 2023.
She has worked in public affairs in south east London for over 25 years with a range of clients, including the Greenwich Foundation and LandsecU+I. She is currently the President of the South East London Chamber of Commerce.

Prior to that, Jamie held a number of senior management roles in FE colleges and led strategic responses to large regeneration projects, adult skills, apprenticeships, partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
Jamie is keen to ensure Lewisham College remains an anchor institution and a community asset. He also recognises the important work charities carryout and has run the London Marathon 5 times to date, raising over £20,000.
